Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides care in a range of locations including people’s own homes, specialist clinics, hospitals, low and medium secure units and GP surgeries.
Services include CAMHS, community based care services, inpatient, older adults and dementia, and urgent care services. We provide mental health and learning disability services to communities across East and West Sussex including Brighton and Hove, Eastbourne, Hastings and Crowborough.

Our Locations
From the stunning South Downs National Park and Areas of Outstanding Beauty, to 140 miles of coastline, Sussex has it all. Preceptorships
Sussex Partnership provides a preceptorship programme over the first year after qualification to support you in your transition from student nurse to registered clinician.
For Newly Qualified Nurses Sussex Partnership provides a preceptorship programme over the first year after qualification to support you in your transition from mental health, adult or learning disability student nurse to registered nurse. Making sure that newly qualified nurses are supported through this transition is an important priority for Sussex Partnership.
Apprenticeships
We offer a wide range of clinical and administrative based apprenticeships, ranging from Level 2 GCSE level to a Level 7 at Master’s Degree level.

Return to Practice
We value ‘return to practice’ nurses very highly and can offer you the placements you need to refresh your clinical and professional skills, reach the standard required to register with the NMC and provide the personal support you need to transition back to work.
We also offer Return to Practice placements (on request) for Allied Health Professionals who have been away from the professions for some time to refresh their clinical and professional skills, and to reach the standard required to register with the HCPC.
Professional Development
We will support you to identify your training and development needs and motivations, and work with you to achieve them in a way that suits you. We offer a range of innovative education and training programmes and have strong links with Brighton & Sussex Medical School, the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton.
The professional development of nurses is supported by the Department of Nursing Research, Education and Development at Sussex Partnership.
The department manages the CPD training programme for nurses, which includes the Nurse Development Programme, the Research Awareness Module for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals, Practice Assessor Preparation Training, Supported Learners in Practice Updates and Collaboration Learning in Practice (CLiP) training.
The team also supports nurses who want to develop a career as an advanced clinical practitioner, nurse teacher or researcher and manages placement at Sussex Partnership for mental health and learning disability nurse, paramedic and nursing associate students.
Leadership Training and Development
A career at Sussex Partnership offers many opportunities to develop as a leader. Leadership Plus is our own inhouse training programme run over two years. We also sponsor staff to participate in the training programmes delivered by the NHS Leadership Training Academy designed to help you grow as a leader.
