I am a 27-year-old Practice Nurse. In late 2018 I moved to the UK from New Zealand. In New Zealand I worked as a RN at Skin Institute, a private skin cancer, cosmetic, and dermatology clinic. In the future I would like to start my own clinic in cosmetic medicine. I am also passionate about international nursing and helping other nurses come to the UK.

I am a 1 year ODP student, in my view, the ODP role is not understood for many healthcare professionals, and there is different role and understanding in different Trusts or healthcare setting. In my placement, ODPs are these assisting Dr anaesthetics. Those scrubbing do not consider themselves as ODPs, but just scrubs, as a different profession and those in PACU consider themselves as ward nurses. While in my preview healthcare setting, there is no title Nurse in the theatre department, but ODPs-nurse in three areas, ODP for either anaesthetic room, theatre, and pacu. So people that understand that role of ODPs is just within an anaesthetic room;
